Friday
Today is one of my favorite days in Downtown Hartford. There are always hundreds of runners milling about the city the day before the Hartford Marathon. Freakishly skinny and way too healthy people who take over the Downtown. You see them on the sidewalks, in the restaurants, in the park and around the hotels. The Hartford Courant reported yesterday that the Hartford Marathon alone brings in $9,000,000 in revenue into the city. It’s a really good day for Hartford.
As for me, I am spending the day dodging my daughter’s germs. She has been sick for three days and I cannot afford to catch anything. I started hydrating yesterday morning and carboloading last night. I I will be properly fueled by 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. One last day until 26.2 miles.
